Last Thursday night, while we were making dinner, the kids were swimming, and Sam spotted a lizard. He caught it, which was amazing because they are very fast, and we just had to take a picture of it!
As you all know, Layne really misses Josie and Sam while they are at school, so when she can't go shopping she finds different ways to keep herself busy - and of course, she is always dressed perfectly for the occasion. On Friday I was doing dishes and Layne wanted to listen to her CD (she got a mix CD last Christmas of all her favorite songs). So, when I finished doing the dishes, I went into the living room to check on her and this was what I found. She was sitting on the fireplace, looking longingly at herself in the mirror, while she sang the Hannah Montana/Billy Ray Cyrus song - Don't Go. 
On Saturday afternoon we went to an Apple Orchard, about 20 minutes away, for the big Apple Butter Festival. The kids thought we were in the car FOREVER. (Everything in Lubbock is so close they are used to being in the car for like 5 minutes). Anyway, the festival is a really big deal, they have a concert, a petting zoo, inflatable slides, merchant booths, BBQ, hayrides, and even Johnny Appleseed. We even got to pick our own apples!
On Saturday Night we went to the County Fair. What more needs to be said?
Layne has learned a new trick - she has figured out how to look at her nose!

Love LOVE Layne's new trick!! I'm also VERY excited for the 'Emily sighting' there in the tree. Missing you all very much. Looking forward to our phone date next week.
